Wow, I get to make the first post in the 'Eastern Europe' forum. Very exciting! Anyway, I thought I would share a few of the best songs I got hold of when I went to Prague a few months ago.
First up is a track by Nikola. Like pretty much all of the artists I'm posting tracks by, I know absolutely nothing about this young lady other than that she's released a fairly good album of dance-pop. 'Šedá' is far and away the best track:

Next up is Katka Brzobohatá, a Victoria Beckham-esque R&B singer who has hilariously stolen the intro to Christina's 'Fighter' for this single 'Seš v tom sám' which comes from another so-so album called 'Reality Show':

Zip Zap are perhaps the closest thing you'll find to a Czech A*Teens (except not as good). Their self-titled album is a mix of quite grown-up sounding dance tracks and bubblegum pop so sickly that it makes the Tweenies look sophisticated. What's more they're sponsored by none other than Tesco! Tesco have a number of outlets throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia and have put their name to this group of teens. Here is a good dancey track:

And here is a song that is only worth hearing for the incredible resemblance to the 'Grange Hill' theme tune:

Jana Fabiánová's album is made up of cover versions of well known tracks from the '80s. Some unfortunately are only partially translated into Czech such as her cover of Trans X's 'Living On Video'. This cover of Kylie's 'Locomotion' is all in Czech though which makes it an interesting oddity:

Finally, the best song I'm posting is this fantastic Electro-Pop single by Czezh Pop Idol winner 'Šárka Vaòková'. This was written by Madonna's old friend Shep Solomon, S Club writer Simon Ellis and Danielle Brisebios.
