Everyones favourite Norwegian electro-pop queen who isn't named Annie has another album, My Italian Greyhound, on the way. First single, 500, is a delightful glittering discoball with a really nice retro video. But her best song will probably always be Twisted Little Star.

I always feel disappointed by Bertine. I like her up-tempo, poppy moments. Loved, for instance, Fake Your Beauty and Girl Like You.
But then she has dull stuff like Fate. And songs with cheery titles like Death in Her Room.
One song called Snow on a Hot Day is fantastic pop. My Norwegian friend derisively called it "her cheesiest pop song" which, to me, made it great but it seems Norway doesn't embrace cheese as easily.
500 sounds good though, so here's hoping My Italian Greyhound (?) is up-tempo, pop goodness.

Norway doesn't produce cheesy pop music but the pop-ish music they do make is often fantastic, for example that of the M2M girls, Lilyjets, Erik Faber, Venke Knutson and of course Annie and Bertine.
I haven't got any of Bertine's albums but all the music I've heard from her has been great and I really love 500. She is cool and original and while Annie makes the cutest electropop around, Bertine creates something a little bit more unusual. None of her songs are quite the level of Me Plus One or Chewing Gum but she's made many which come close, especially Ah-Ah which is my definite Bertine favourite.

And songs with cheery titles like Death in Her Room. I agree that Bertine is slightly uneven and sometimes has songs that sounds more like sound experiments than actual tunes. But for example Death In Her Room has a glorious chorus that more than makes up for the title. The Rollerskating album was a step in the right direction, almost all of it was actual great songs. While keeping that special Bertine feeling that makes her so unique.
